Comments about Elzetta ZFL-M60 235 Lumen LED Flashlight:
I love the light but returned mine. The tail cap switch is rather flat and doesn't stand "high" enough so it wasn't as comfortable as it could be if the switch was just a tad higher. Also, the threads on the tailcap seem rough and scratchy compared to a surefire or Fenix lights I have. In mine there were some minor imperfections in the sealed reflector unit, a mark of some kind. I was surprised about that and the tail cap switch was tight against one side leaving a 1/16" gap on the opposite side and when you pressed the switch you could feel it rubbing on the inside. I compared this light to a Surefire 6PX Pro which is priced in the high $70's. The surefire has a better switch by far and a much better quality of beam with more spill. It still reaches out there (throw) nearly as well as the Elzetta but w/the additonal spill and no real visible rings in the beam. I do love how the Elzetta swith functions compared to the Surefire. On the surfire you have to press twice to get high. I think the Elzetta would be a better light if they'd clean up the threads (they should feel silky smooth) and used a taller switch cap on the end. Other wise the ergonomics of the light are simply outsanding and I think it is an honest 200 lumens with good throw, however, the 6PX Pro is a far better value with equal or better quality, better beam, spill and price so long as you don't mind tapping first to get low and then a second time to get the high. For a dedicated weapon light this wouldn't do but for the average civilian user this is fine if not preferable. I was disappointed about the minor defects in mine and from what I've read, mine is probably the very isolated example of one that's less than perfect. So in my opinon, Elzetta needs to raise the hight of the tail cap swith, clean up the threads, get rid of the rings in the beam (adding a bit more spill) and they'll have the ultimate light. Still it's a great light and not bad if you compare it to a Surefire LX2 Lumamax.
