    The faultless functioning of my R2 version of this flashlight bought from Tacticalleds.com in May 2010 prompted me last month to purchase the R5 version as gift for a friend. It is a comfortable EDC (Every Day Carry) size. It is extremely versatile, in terms of battery alone it accepts: CR123 Lithium, AA Alkaline and Li-ion Rechargeable for both the afore mentioned battery sizes. It can also be used as a "candle" since it stands on its rear end Its versatility is enhanced especially in its latest R5 iteration with features such as infinite ramping and strobe. Ease of use is defined by the selector ring on the bezel. All these factors make me recommend this flashlight without hesitation. [...]

    I just found today this light also has a hidden SOS function. OH JOY! Three quick left to right control ring rotations at any brightness level unlocks the madness 80) Brightness while in SOS is adjustable also. Rotate ring to lowest level or turn off to stop function.

    I use this light in the home and as illumination in security settings and after a solid week I still think it's a wonderful light. There is a learning curve for those of us with large thumbs pertaining to the tail cap (momentary on/off) but it's workable with a little practice. The unit I received is Jetbeam's updated build, complete with infinite ramping and tactical strobe.
